THE STORY
A well-reviewed HVAC contractor with decades of field experience was stuck at position #8 on Google Maps. Despite hundreds of happy customers, local search traffic was going straight to top 3 competitors.
Our initial teardown uncovered a half-completed Google Business Profile, mismatched NAP (Name, Address, Phone) citations across 30+ web directories, and missing service categories.
We overhauled the profile: properly mapped high-intent primary and secondary service categories, added real job photos, published weekly service updates, and seeded common customer Q&As.
Next, we systematically cleaned up citation data across all local directories to establish bulletproof location authority in Google's index.
Within 90 days, the profile climbed from #8 to the #1 spot in the local map pack for primary HVAC keywords, doubling direct call volume without spending a dime on ads.
